Best Marion Cotillard Films

Monday, June 30, 2014
Marion Cotillard is a french darling. She's been an actress in France for many decades, but only recently begun to cross over into American Hollywood films. Not to mention, she is one of the few actresses to successfully do this!

These are my top Marion Cotillard films (in general order):

MUST-SEE:

SHOULD SEE:

Maybe I'm biased but I absolutely love Marion's early French films. Love Me If You Dare (Cap ou pas cap?) was the very first Marion Cotillard film I saw, which introduced me to the actress (and Guillaume Canet - swoon!). So if there's ONE film out of this list you should see, it's that one!

I'm sure you all realize how obsessed I am with Pierrot Le Fou by now, but I really love this Japanese style portrait. I love how it combines multiple still frames in a beautiful way.

Less than $20 and it ships free. Pas mal!

Pierrot Le Fou

Thursday, June 26, 2014
Pierrot Le Fou is one of my all-time favorite films. It tells the story of the tragic love between a bored man and a charismatic woman. The two flee Paris in an exciting adventure that takes them to the south of France. Each shot is a work of art, featuring close up shots of handwriting, lots of red and blue (the colors of the French flag!), and even is somewhat of an ode to film itself.

Pierrot Le Fou stars Anna Karina as Marianne and Jean Paul Belmondo as Pierrot. Released in 1965, it was directed by the famed Nouvelle Vague "auteur" Jean-Luc Godard.
